EUROSPINE 2018 - Barcelona

The upcoming annual EUROSPINE meeting and congress in Barcelona on the 19-21 September 2018 will be one of the scientific highlights of the year for all spine professionals and experts in Europe and beyond.

EUROSPINE 2018 will provide a very attractive programme which will allow all meeting participants to enjoy striking presentations, excellent seminars and research panels, allowing you to take up-the latest information and techniques and to bring them back home.

Eurospine 2018 has scheduled a special “Learning from the Experts” Lunch Symposia. Open Operating Theatre surgery videos will be used in case presentations under the topic of “Cervical and Thoracolumbar Osteotomies”. The presenters will include Hossein Mehdian UK, Claudio Lamartina Italy, Ibrahim Obeid France and Klaus Schnake Germany. They will discuss their surgeries and take on Questions and Answers. This is always a very popular event, so be sure to arrive early!

Because the promotion of quality management is so essential, the European Spine Journal organised its second Spine Sciences “Meet the Experts” Forum, featuring carefully selected international experts in the field of sagittal balance.

The Spine Sciences “Meet the Experts” Forum aims at optimizing the exchange of knowledge. This peer-reviewed meeting is, by design, highly interactive. The format of the meeting consists of interactive case-based discussions between participants and world experts.

Eurospine 2017

The EUROSPINE 2017 will be attended by health professionals such as doctors, surgeons, medical researchers from across the nation and around the world who will gather in Dublin, Ireland, to exchange information on the latest problems, discuss treatment outcomes, and interact with colleagues at this must-attend event.

The EUROSPINE Annual Congress 2017 will be held at CCD - Convention Centre Dublin Durban, Ireland, from 11 October to 13 October, 2017.

The Videographer Awards has announced the winners for their 2017 International Awards Competition, which recognizes outstanding achievement in video and digital production. There were more than 1,400 entries from the United States and 13 other countries.

MEDEA Awards 2017

Open Operating Theatre took part in the MEDEA Awards 2017. MEDEA rated the OOT contribution “MIS revision of de novo scoliosis and stenosis, following open spinal instrumentation” as highly recommended.

Max Aebi Award for Clinical Sciences

Professor Richard Assaker MD, from Hôpital Roger Salengro at Université de Lille, France, was the recipient of the first Max Aebi Award. The award, which includes payment of 20’000 Euros, is given for the best clinical paper, published in the European Spine Journal over a period of one year.

The study is titled "Maverick total disc replacement in a real-world patient population: a prospective, multicentre, observational study". It was published in the ESJ in September 2015, Volume 24, Issue 9, pp2047-2055.

We congratulate Professor Assaker and his team on being honoured with this award.
