Introduction
In this film we present the TDR surgical technique in a young female patient with single level CSM and C6 monoparesis. TDR offers excellent results in pain control and in neurological symptoms. It is superior in preserving mobility in the first postoperative years.
The patient is a 36 year-old female complaining of progressive gait disturbances, radiating pain and paraesthesia, due to left C6 dermatome and a left biceps brachii monoparesis. Physical examination shows spinal ataxia with positive upper tract signs, indicating cervical myelopathy. The MRI shows disc herniation at C4/5 with compression of the spinal cord. The T2 weighted MRI reveals signal alteration within the spinal cord.
